Special Needs Planning

Special Needs Planning has two goals: ensuring someone can make decisions for a person who is not capable of doing so themselves, and providing financially for the ongoing needs of the vulnerable person.

Special Needs Trust

A Special Needs Trust is a form of trust established to allow the beneficiary of the trust to receive funds from the trust and still protecting them from losing public benefits that are based on a means-test eligibility requirement such as Medicaid. Typically, a parent, grandparent, or guardian establishes a Special Needs Trust for a disabled child or other relative.
